Western On Tour 2008 is a series of receptions designed to provide information about undergraduate and graduate admission, and about the variety of academic programs and degrees WCU offers on campus and through distance learning. Receptions are structured so students and parents can chat individually with university representatives who will listen and answer questions before and after a formal presentation.

“Personal attention is a Western hallmark, and we will be delivering it right to neighborhoods across the state,” said Alan Kines, director of undergraduate admission at Western. “Whether a student is interested in our undergraduate, graduate or distance programs, experts will be available to help get them on the right path.”

Each reception will begin at 6 p.m., with the formal presentation scheduled for 7 p.m. Information stations covering admission, financial aid, campus housing, scholarships and fields of study will be available. The schedule:

• Monday, Sept. 22, Concord, Embassy Suites, 5400 John Q. Hammons Drive N.W.

• Tuesday, Sept. 23, Greensboro, Embassy Suites, 204 Centreport Drive

• Wednesday, Sept. 24, Raleigh, North Raleigh Hilton, 3415 Wake Forest Road

• Thursday, Sept. 25, Charlotte, Charlotte Marriott Southpark, 2200 Rexford Road

In addition, fall on-campus Open House events in Cullowhee are set for Friday, Sept. 12; Saturday, Oct. 18, and Saturday, Nov. 15.
