Students to lead MySpace training for local seniors
11/17/2008 - Students from Western Carolina University’s department of communication will lead an introductory workshop for senior citizens interested in learning about the popular MySpace social networking Web site.
The workshop will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Jackson County Golden Age Center. Western Carolina students will provide tutorials and technology to enable participates to get individual MySpace pages up and running that evening, said James Manning, WCU associate professor of communication.
Participants are asked to bring photographs they would like to post on their pages, along with a current working e-mail address. A light dinner will be served prior to the workshop.
For more information or to register, contact Alisha Maney at the Jackson County Senior Center at (828) 586-4944, or via e-mail at goldenagecenter1@verizon.net.
